North East outfit Floral Detectives have just unveiled new track, ‘Fight the Pain’, a song about war, suffering and pain, alongside the stoic belief that, perhaps sooner than we expect, peace might one day be among us.
The new track is being released ahead of their new studio album, ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. It also marks the band’s shift towards a harder, post-punk sound.
The track hit me like a wall of sound after a few seconds of war-themed soundscapes. You know straight away that this song isn’t going to pull any punches – and it delivers.
The mix hits my ears a little uncomfortably at times, and there are moments when I struggle to hear the vocalist, who I believe is a new addition to the band. Other than that, ‘Fight the Pain’ delivers as a great rock song. Each instrument adds something new, and those who enjoy listening to songs layer by layer will have plenty of fun picking it apart.
‘Fight the Pain’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
