Georgia Ruyi is a multi-instrumentalist making her debut on the local music scene. Having spent her childhood in Malaysia, her relocation now provides the region with another exceptional talent.
Ruyi’s debut single, ‘Held By Strings’, is a thoughtful, melodic journey through jazz-folk. Having given her first live performance only last year, as part of Young Musicians’ ‘Stripped Back Socials’ at Port Independent, there is clearly much more to come from this talented songwriter as she progresses in her career.
What is particularly striking, and impossible to ignore, is her ability. To craft and perform her own material with the care and finesse of more seasoned performers at such an early stage speaks volumes. There is no doubt Georgia has a bright future ahead of her, and may the road rise to meet her.
Currently writing and recording new material, ‘Held By Strings’ is the beginning of something truly special.
