Emerging onto the electronic scene in 2023, Moss have offered glimpses of the sound they have been carefully developing – a mixture of intelligent trip-hop with striking vocals from Oui Bee, crunchy guitars, and intricate electronic beats and samples.
Their latest release, the self-titled EP ‘MOSS’, gives listeners a fuller sense of the duo’s evolving sound. ‘Angst’ is arguably the standout track, brimming with single-like appeal and energy.
The tempo drops for ‘The East’, while retaining the dark, immersive soundscape and mythical lyrics. This continues into ‘UFS’, where the introduction of cello adds depth, before a shift back to urgency with ‘The Age We Live In’, which draws the EP to an excellent close.
With the care and attention evident in each release, Moss are rightly earning recognition as an elusive gem of the North East scene.
Not to be confused with other artists of the same name, MOSS will play The Forum in Darlington on Thursday 18th December, with further dates surely to follow.
The self-titled EP is available now on all major streaming services.
