Following a string of successful gigs at the Soho Theatre, Jessie Cave is going on tour across the UK. She brings her show, ‘Sunrise’, to The Stand in Newcastle – a venue which has played host to some of the best comedians in the UK.
Having gone through a break up with her long-term partner and fellow comic Alfie Brown last year, ‘Sunrise’ is a refreshingly honest and witty take on making sense of her new normal and getting back into dating, all while juggling two children.
The ex-Harry Potter star is a real creative and channels her dry, optimistic humour through the medium of art. She became Insta-famous through showcasing her relatable doodles regarding the euphoria and turmoil of modern love and life, which she makes and sells online. More recently, she even chose to go head to head with Alfie in Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and showed us all just how satisfying it is to openly roast your ex on TV.
On a deeper level, Jessie’s show is a complex confessional that is sure to resonate with many audience members. As a comic, she is brilliantly neurotic and extremely truthful. Transparent about her personal life, her material addresses subjects that some comedians may avoid speaking about – and this has been rewarded with many supporters.
Jessie Cave heads to The Stand, Newcastle on Tuesday 5th March. Doors open at 19:00 with the show commencing at 20:30. Tickets, priced at £12.00 in advance, are available from thestand.co.uk.
