Kent-born actress, writer and stand-up comedian, Lou Sanders, is heading back out on the road this month with a brand new live stage show set to bring the wow factor to Newcastle.
A regular live performer both across the UK and around the world, Sanders has become a fan favourite and must-see stand-up. Her show ‘Shame Pig’ was the joint winner of the Comedian’s Choice Award for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018, prompting her return to the festival a year later with her new show, ‘Say Hello to Your New Step Mammy’.
As well as being a fast-rising star on the stage, since leaving her job as an OFCOM complaints handler, Lou has also become a well-known feature on our screens, having been crowned the winner of the eighth season of Taskmaster.
Over the years, she has also appeared on shows including QI, Would I Lie to You, Travel Man, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Hypothetical, The Russell Howard Hour, Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Red Nose Day for Comic Relief, Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Electric and Question time.
Sanders has also acted alongside comedy peer Aisling Bea in sitcom ‘This Way Up’ as well as co-starring alongside Karl Pilkington in Sick Of It. She is a regular guest on Radio 4’s The Unbelievable Truth as well as BBC Two’s Live at the Apollo.
Having also made a name for herself as a writer, she has written and starred in Elderflower alongside big names such as Sheila Reid, Tom Rosenthal and Mike Wozniak and has collaborated with shows including Mock The Week, Stand Up For The Week and Miranda.
Her latest tour, ‘One Word: WOW’, will see her visit venues across the UK including Glasgow, Salford, Edinburgh, Leicester, Bath, Maidenhead, Norwich, Ipswich, Cheltenham, Exeter, Reading, Redhill and Swindon, as well as coming to Newcastle, and is sure to be a performance like no other.
Lou Sanders will head to The Stand, Newcastle on Sunday 15th May. Tickets, priced from £16.00, are available at thestand.co.uk.
