Comedian Emmanuel Sonubi returns to the stage with his new show ‘Life After Near Death’, which visits two North East venues this month: The Witham in Barnard Castle on Thursday 23rd October, followed by The Stand in Newcastle on Saturday 25th October.
In 2019, Sonubi suffered heart failure on stage in Dubai, caused by a condition known as dilated cardiomyopathy. His latest show reflects on that experience- recovery, trauma, and resilience – told through comedy that’s both heartfelt (no pun intended) and hilarious. While the subject matter is serious, Sonubi delivers it with his trademark blend of punchy storytelling and razor-sharp wit.
Having hosted and headlined Live at the Apollo, and appeared on shows such as QI, Have I Got News for You, Pointless Celebrities, and Comedy Central Live, Sonubi has seen a rapid rise since starting stand-up in 2015. His success lies in his ability to connect with audiences through charismatic, often emotional, storytelling.
