The title of this stand-up show by South Dublin comedian Rachel Galvo has me gripped by the tits. What’s it all about? What makes this young woman a self-proclaimed ‘shite feminist’? (Spoiler alert: nuns).
I’d say Rachel is actually doing pretty damn well, personally. A charmed upbringing, privately educated, a Master’s degree in musical theatre, and an explosively successful start in the world of stand-up – with sold-out shows across the UK and Ireland on her debut tour. Add a large, loyal fanbase both online and IRL, and all by the age of 25? Doesn’t sound too shabby to me.
So what about the gags? Rachel comes from a long line of storytellers and has plenty of outrageous tales to tell. She’s also unapologetically truthful about her very privileged upbringing and doesn’t shy away from self-deprecation. But don’t let that fool you – Rachel is gloriously lewd, proudly crude, and certainly anything but shite.
