Argos Archives, a powerful new production from Futures Theatre, comes to Northern Stage, Newcastle this month. Written by Sabrina Mahfouz and created with Thrive Creatives, the show explores themes of neurodivergence, self-discovery, and the search for purpose.
The story follows a woman turning 30, who, despite not having the right qualifications, is determined to pursue her dream job at Argos. She’s chatty, loves Greek myths, and finds comfort in the catalogues, where she sees order amidst life’s chaos. Her journey is guided by two unique friends – Archives, who thrives on organisation, and Argos, a mythical, all-seeing giant with 100 eyes.
As they dive into the nostalgic world of Argos catalogues, from Tamagotchis to Elizabeth Duke jewellery, they uncover forgotten memories and celebrate what makes her unique.
