Students from the Northern School of Art are set to present three exciting theatre productions as part of InterACT 2027, showcasing the incredible talent emerging from the region.
On Wednesday 18th November at 7pm, students will perform Sami Ibrahim’s A Sudden Violent Burst of Rain. The play follows a sheep shearer who spends much of her day queuing outside a palace, hoping the King will let her in. It offers a critical perspective on the harsh realities of immigration, drawing parallels with today’s systems. This will be followed by Vinay Patel’s Sticks and Stones, performed by Level 6 Acting students. The satirical piece explores how technology can amplify even the smallest mistakes and missteps.
The following evening, Thursday 19th November, brings Night of the Living Dead. Six strangers find themselves at a lonely farmhouse, only to discover that brain-eating zombies are also on the scene. This reimagining of George A. Romero’s cult classic offers a distinctly North East twist. Written by Christopher Bond, Dale Boyer and Trevor Martin, and created by Christopher Harrison and Phil Pattison, audiences can expect a production that delivers both laughs and jump scares.
Each performance will also feature technical theatre work by a BA (Hons) Film, TV & Theatre Production cohort.
General tickets cost £12.00, concessions are £7.00, and student tickets are just £4.00. Alternatively, tickets for both nights cost £14.00, or £8.00 for concessions.
