This month, Live Theatre hosts the newest Curious Monkey production as they welcome audiences to the Newcastle-based venue to witness the fabulous Penguin.
Co-created and performed by Hamzeh Al-Hussein, Penguin sees audiences follow the extraordinary story of his tour through the places that he knows best.
Filled with humour and beauty, you will be taken on a trip that sees you visit a village within the Syrian Mountains, a Za’atari camp situated in Jordan, the homestead of Gateshead, and the wonders within his mind.
You’re invited to become his childhood friends, given the chance to hold the moon that lights his way, you’ll be whisked away into his dreams, and you’ll help him brush the dust from his clothes whilst taking to the stage.
The world of Hamzeh is filled with music, fantasies, dancing, and marbles as the experiences of his life so far play out whilst showing you that yes, he can do anything.
Audiences will also be welcome to attend a free post-show Q&A session with director Amy Golding and Hamzeh himself on Saturday 23rd September.
