Edge has established itself as a great addition to Stockton’s nightlife of late and with its fantastic riverside location, right alongside The Millennium Bridge, and just a short walk from the bars and venues of the rest of the town, it’s a great place to check out if you haven’t already.
The Vinyl Long Play event at Edge will provide a great day of entertainment whilst raising money for a great charity to boot, with funds raised going to local organisation Raindrops to Rainbows, a group that supports and promotes maternal mental health in the North East. The charity plays an important role in the wellbeing for new parents and provides a vital lifeline for individuals that are often overlooked by mainstream services.
The line-up for this event showcases some great local talent and amongst them are James Gray Robson and the Lovely Burn. This blues and Americana-inspired duo will be a fantastic addition to an evening of sipping ale by the river in Stockton. They rock into town having filled a busy schedule to date with some great new material (they’re currently recording their album to be released later this year) and their recent release, ‘Years & Years’, is well worth checking out.
Another notable addition to the line-up is Two Blue Band. Born out of the original blues duo of Ian Robinson and Michael Grant, these seasoned heavy blues-rock musicians perform now as a full band and combine their funky grooves with explosive guitars to full effect.
Completing the festivities are musicians Sarah Connolly, John Stainthorpe and Andi Grainger whose individual performances will provide a chilled out and acoustic warm-up for the main acts that will be well in keeping with the afternoon into evening vibe of the event.
There will also be an exhibition of artwork by organisers Lauren Duncan and EnA Photography to raise awareness for maternal mental health.
There’s not much of an excuse not to get down and support this event: the setting, the music, the company, the exhibition, a Sunday afternoon session, the fantastic good cause – and it’s free entry! What more could you possibly ask for?
Vinyl Long Play takes place at Edge Bar, Stockton on Sunday 26th May from 15:00 and continues into the night.
