Stockton music charity, Tees Music Alliance, have been busy behind the scenes during lockdown.
Ongoing lockdowns and restrictions meant that the music charity’s original plans to open their doors at The Georgian Theatre and The Green Room moved to planned activity largely online, with a range of opportunities being rolled out under the banner of #DigitalTenderness, inspired by an early Adam & The Ants song of the same name.
The project, which finishes this week, has included Creative Mind Care Packages, songwriting workshops, filmed performances, community radio programmes, a creative magazine, children’s activities, and TMA’s ‘Working Kitchen’ providing a meals-on-wheels type service for isolated communities. This has been possible due to £48,836 of funding and support from the National Lottery Community Fund and Key Fund.
As part of the project, the Tees Music Alliance have launched The Musician’s Atlas, an invaluable resource for music activists to get ahead in the industry. Containing tips and articles on playing live, promotion, recording and production, management, labels, distribution and publishing, money matters, health and wellbeing from experts in their fields, plus inspirational interviews with some of the Tees Valley’s most successful musicians, it’s an extremely helpful resource for musicians across the region.
The Musician’s Atlas is a jargon-free, relatable and easy to digest guide which aims to keep musicians enthused, inspired and ready for any project and scenario they face.
