Not just another band making their name on the local scene, Decrepit Youths have really been a force to be reckoned with.
Their latest single, ‘This Is War’, dropped recently, and its polished production is matched only by its “in your face” brutality.
There’s a lot to like about this song: the crushing guitar riffs, the distinctively Northern vocalist and a real sense that you’re hearing something “happen” – kind of like the first time I ever picked up an Alice in Chains record. It’s strikingly raw and honest and doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not.
The track is accompanied by a fantastic video, shot in high definition, and featuring this band doing what they do best – performing live.
The band are excited about this release, and they should be, because the work put in looks to have well and truly paid off.
To quote Decrepit Youths directly, they’re “hoping the music speaks for itself and (sic) can get it to as many listeners as possible”. So you’d be well advised to stop reading and stream it, loud and proud, right now.
