‘Dance Track’ is the new single from Hartlepool artist James Leonard Hewitson, the second to be taken from his debut album, ‘Only the Noise Will Save Me’.
It’s an elegant song which draws on his considerable experience and poses the question of individuality.
The song looks at the aspects of single life and how more people are choosing to live single lives than ever before. Sometimes we need people, the artist says, and sometimes we don’t.
There’s a man-made feel to this release as if the individual parts were written and created as the song came to life…sort of like a conveyer belt.
The cover of the single is something I also felt quite stricken by and I later learned the artwork was part of the artists’ photography work, capturing urban buildings in Hartlepool.
I’m confident that Hewitson will find success in the future and, if this track is not proof enough, you’d be well advised to check out his debut album.
