Holy Moly and The Crackers’ lead vocalist Ruth Lyon unleashes her upbeat, alt-pop new single, ‘Fast Food’.
Before I’d read a single word from the track’s accompanying press release, I found myself drawn into the song’s lyrics as they sounded all too familiar and truly resonated with me.
The realism of lines such as: “It’s been one long year, what have I done, I’ve been bingeing on TV like a son of a gun,” being of note.
Of course, the circumstances and experiences which Ruth is referring to is life during the lockdown. But add an infectious pop melody and a colourful, light-hearted music video and Ruth Lyon has hit the nail on the head of what life has been like during 2020/21.
Not only is ‘Fast Food’ an earworm, but perhaps the single will become an anthem for the pandemic times.
