Nationally renowned Scottish comedian, actress, and writer Karen Dunbar is bringing her new show to Newcastle this month. After making a name for herself on the show Chewin’ the Fat, Dunbar’s initial radio work transitioned her onto Scottish and then national television.
Known for playing comically off-beat characters, she has starred in her own show, aptly titled The Karen Dunbar Show, which received nominations for Best Comedy Show and Best Comedy Performance. She has also demonstrated her talents in more serious performances, including poetic monologues and all-female performances of Shakespeare plays at the Donmar Warehouse, showcasing her classical side in roles in Julius Caesar, Henry IV, and The Tempest.
Now, she is returning to her comedic roots for a night full of laughs with ‘An Audience with Karen Dunbar’. There is also the option to purchase VIP tickets, which allows you to meet Karen during the first interval and have her sign the official gig poster.
