Phil Wang, one of the UK’s most exciting comedians, has become a household name on the comedy circuit having starred on many episodes of Live at the Apollo and featured on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and Channel 4’s The Last Leg.
Besides these accolades, he is also well-known for his Radio 4 comedy series ‘Daphne Sounds Expensive’ and also runs his own regular podcast entitled ‘The Budpod’ which has garnered him a vast number of fans.
‘Philly Philly Wang Wang’ has made a name for himself within the industry, exploiting his mixed-race heritage, his relationships and politics for comedic purposes which are, more often than not, awarded with more than just a chuckle or two. His set features witty one-liners and back and forth banter between himself and the audience too, with audience participation at the centre of his work.
Wang has climbed up the comedy ladder throughout the years and, for one night only, his North East fans have a chance to see him up close and personal as he takes to the stage at the Tyne Theatre.
The award-winning comedian sold-out his previous North East show in 2018 and, due to this popularity, he was forced to add additional dates. His 2019 Edinburgh Fringe run also sold out in advance, making a little bit of Fringe history. His 2020 tour has more than half of the dates sold out too, with limited seats available for the Tyne Theatre gig.
Phil Wang heads to Tyne Theatre, Newcastle on Thursday 19th March.
Tickets, priced at £15.00 in advance, are available from tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk.
