From comedy and presenting to acting and singing, Rachel Parris is a woman who can do it all. With such a range of talents comes first-hand knowledge and experience of the ups, downs, rights and wrongs within each of the industries.
For those who know Parris, they will know that she has a keen eye for the observational aspects of comedy and has an outstanding talent for sharing her thoughts and opinions in a witty, intelligent and purely funny way.
Rachel has had a variety of TV appearances so far in her career including performing stand-up on shows such as Live at the Apollo, QI, Would I Lie To You, and Mock The Week, and she has also demonstrated her acting prowess on the likes of The IT Crowd, Plebs, and Murder In Successville.
One of her TV appearances that many audiences may recognise the performer from is her recurring role on The Mash Report (BBC) and Late Night Mash (Dave) which sees Parris as a ‘correspondent’ delivering a satirical report on the current affairs of the week where she tackles the likes of politics and celebrities.
Through her Mash Report appearances and other comedy performances, Parris has established herself as a comedian who can satirise but also relate it to the important aspects of the world we live in, such as the impact the issues have upon woman’s rights, feminism and other social groups; and it’s no wonder that in 2019, Rachel was ultimately BAFTA-nominated for her work on the show.
Her approach to comedy is one to be admired and has led to her winning awards such as Female First’s Comedian of the Year in 2018 and Chortle’s Best Music and Variety Act in 2019.
With her new tour, All Change Please, Rachel will head to Middlesbrough Town Hall on Friday 8th April. This tour will see Parris perform a mix of stand-up and original songs that speak about sudden love, families, weddings, children, the highs and lows of relationships, going viral online, going mental, and also the confusing and mind-boggling world that is our modern society.
With musical numbers that are guaranteed to stick in your head and have you singing to yourself for days afterwards, and comedy that will have you picking out parts and relating them to your own life, say yes please to watching All Change Please.
Tickets, priced at £17.50 in advance, are available from middlesbroughtownhall.co.uk.
