Pictish Trail is the musical pseudonym of Scotsman, Johnny Lynch.
His first album, recorded on his computer, was released in 2003 on the label that he ran for the next decade, Fence Records. But it was ‘Secret Soundz Vol 1’ in 2008 that was his proper debut release (it was received with critical acclaim) and in 2010, he was named as ‘12th hottest Scot’ in The List.
Since then, he has released five more albums, including 2022’s ‘Island Family’ that blends folk and lo-fi indie with electronic experimentation, and has earned the acclaim of many, including Lauren Laverne who describes him as ‘one of my favourite artists.’
Pictish Tail will perform a solo set at North Shields’ The Engine Room on Monday 30th September.
Tickets, priced at £14.00 in advance, are available from terns.co.uk.
