Robin Richards, bassist and composer of Manchester-based indie-pop band Dutch Uncles, released his enigmatic debut solo record, entitled ‘Taproots’, in September 2025 on PRAH Recordings.
‘Taproots’ is an evocatively glistening instrumental collection, brought to life by producer and long-time collaborator Brendan Williams. The visionary, award-winning composer has earned praise from BBC Radio 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs and Stuart Maconie, as well as experimental musician Ellen Beth Abdi, who features on the album.
Robin has announced a handful of intimate shows at select venues, including Sunderland’s long-running nightclub and live music venue, the Independent.
