An eclectic mix of local musicians were on show tonight, showcasing the sheer diversity of the music scene right here in the North East.
In an event that had a real sense of community spirit about it, relatively new outfit Uncle Dudeman started the evening with their blend of bluesy rock ‘n’ roll with a psychedelic edge; fuzzy four-piece Dripp stood out with their rap-infused synth-driven sound; quirky-pop outfit Head of Light Entertainment perhaps played their most upbeat set to date (frontman Carl Green’s hip-shaping antics were a highlight), and North East dark-pop heroes Ghost//Signals stole the show with their sinister beats, pop sensibilities and intoxicating stage presence.
Casual Threats ended the night with an adrenaline-fuelled set with bassist, Bazz, running into the crowd, firing balloons across the venue and inviting the majority of the crowd onstage for the finale.
