Actor, writer and comedian Richard Hardisty is bringing his new show ‘Silly Boy’ to Durham in a production about his “silly life and my silly brain”.
Richard’s new show is an intimate look into the lows and highs of his extraordinary life in a show that conveys what mental health and illness look and feel like to him whilst celebrating the beauty and silliness of it all.
Considering the show’s title is light-hearted, it is contrary to the dark stories he tells whilst reassuring the audience it’s okay to laugh and turns our lowest points in life into laughter.
Mania, depression, self-harm, anorexia, heroin abuse and a stint in a mental health institution are just some of the colours in his palette of pain which he has made into a hilarious show.
Richard has other accolades to his name too and has worked in various television roles. From being a Jailer in The Crystal Maze, to an E4 Music Host and playing Roger in The Art of Foley, he has also worked in theatre, radio, and on podcasts and has been in two short films.
