This summer, Gala Theatre in Durham will be hosting a poignant and thought-provoking show for one-night-only as they bring Father Unknown to local audiences.
The production follows the story of our main protagonist Alfie, a young man who suddenly finds out that he is going to be a father during the middle of his GCSE Geography lesson.
Up until this point, life for Alfie had been all about playing Xbox, drinking cans of Monster, jumping the metro, and very narrowly avoiding being kicked out of his lessons – but no more. Suddenly, his life has changed and it’s showing no signs of returning to how it used to be.
Alfie’s story is a comedic but honest look into the challenges of young parenthood from an expectant father’s perspective. So follow along with all of the ups and downs as you’re taken on one father’s parenting journey.
The performance piece has been produced in collaboration with young fathers at the North East Young Dads and Lads project and also with Newcastle University.
Tickets, priced at £10.00 in advance, are available from galadurham.co.uk.
