Josh Tillman, formerly of Fleet Foxes and now the enigmatic Father John Misty, returns to The Glasshouse in Gateshead on Wednesday 25th June, delivering his sharp reflections on modern life.
Touring his seventh album, ‘Mahashmashana’, Misty shifts from the nu-jazz tones of ‘Chloë and the Next 20th Century’ to a more expansive, orchestral sound. The seven-minute ‘Screamland’ is a standout.
Live, he’s magnetic—his baritone both balm and blade. A masterful performer, Misty must be experienced in person. Don’t delay – after all, as he reminds us on his latest album: ‘Time makes a fool of us all.’
Tickets, priced from £47.80, are available from theglasshouseicm.org.
