Hailing from Witton Gilbert in Durham, Prefab Sprout rose to great acclaim in the 1980s, with Martin McAloon founding the band alongside his brother Paddy. Lately, there has been a palpable wave of nostalgia in the music world, and fans are revelling in the buzz it brings.
So, it seems only fitting that Martin should celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album ‘Steve McQueen’ back in the North East, at Pop Recs in Sunderland, on Friday 24th October. The intimate setting will no doubt create a wonderful atmosphere for a performance of some truly exceptional songs from one of the region’s most beloved bands.
