Get ready, Stockton, as KU and The Social Room join forces on Saturday for The Indie Showcase – an all-day celebration of the UK’s vibrant indie rock scene, organised by DRL Promotions.
With 11 incredible bands performing across two stages, and a fully clash-free schedule, you won’t miss a single set.
Headlining the event are Manchester’s Pastel, whose infectious melodies, shimmering guitar work, and anthemic choruses hark back to the golden days of Britpop. They’ll be joined by Scottish four-piece The Shambolics, who blend jangly guitars and singalong choruses with a gritty rock’n’roll edge. Also topping the bill are Chesterfield’s rising stars Crooks, whose raw, emotive sound and heartfelt lyrics have earned them a loyal fanbase and a growing reputation as ones to watch.
But The Indie Showcase is about much more than just the headliners – it’s a brilliant platform for emerging talent from across the UK. Manchester’s Rosellas, who have sold out every hometown show to date, will bring their lush, dreamy sound to KU, while Liverpool’s Rivia promise a high-energy performance with a fresh indie twist.
At The Social Room, Holy Youth Movement will ramp things up with their electrifying fusion of rock and electronica, while Utopiates will mesmerise the crowd with their psychedelic-infused grooves.
Local talent is well represented too, with Marrick, Mascara’s Lies, Risco, and Provenance all showcasing the strength and diversity of Teesside’s homegrown music scene. Each brings something different to the lineup, from gritty realism to polished indie pop, proving Stockton is a town that punches well above its weight musically.
The Indie Showcase is open to everyone aged 14 and over (under-18s must be accompanied by an adult), making it a fantastic opportunity for younger gig-goers to experience some of the UK’s most exciting emerging bands in two of Stockton’s best-loved grassroots venues.
