The K’s continue their intimate UK tour this July, hitting KU on Thursday 20th July for a highly anticipated live set at the Stockton setting.
The 300-capacity Teesside venue will give fans the chance to experience the band closer than ever as they interweave their packed festival season with these exclusive gigs.
After selling out a UK tour earlier in the year, The K’s are not stopping as they head to the North East for the second time this year after playing NX Newcastle back in March.
Hailing from Earlestown, Warrington, Ryan Breslin (lead guitar) Dexter Baker (bass guitar) and Nathan Peers (drums) make up ¾ of the North West band, but The K’s are no strangers to the North East with lead singer Jamie Boyle a Newcastle fan.
The K’s are a perfect blend of fresh but familiar indie, with KU likely to be one of the last chances to see them at this scale with their rapidly growing cult following certain to kick up a gear when the album is released.
One of the major upcoming indie bands in the UK, The K’s have so far made appearances on Soccer AM and at festivals such as NBHD Weekender while also supporting Kasabian earlier this year.
After releasing singles regularly since they formed in 2017, The K’s has so far dropped two tunes in 2023 starting with ‘Hoping Maybe’ in January which made the number 2 spot on the iTunes chart. The softer acoustic track could provide a special moment for those at the intimate gig at KU. With powerful emotional vocals from Boyle, ‘Hoping Maybe’ is a phone-lights-on anthem.
Most recent single, ‘Chancer’, came back in March and heard the band at their energetic indie best. And with ‘Chancer’ certain to be a hit during festival season, it will also no doubt get the Stockton venue bouncing.
Speaking about any album, the band noted: “You can’t be a classic band without a classic album, and we’re confident enough not to rush ours. We won’t release an album until it’s right.” So fans may have to wait a bit longer for an album, but the highly anticipated project will no doubt shoot The K’s to the top of the indie scene.
KU Stockton opens its doors for a chance to see The K’s before this happens, with some unreleased tracks likely to be trialled in front of a smaller ‘K’s’ faithful.
Tickets, priced at £16.00 in advance, are available from ents24.com.
