If you’ve always dreamed of going to India but you’ve never had the chance, on Saturday 5th March it’s your time to experience their breathtaking dance culture.
Kattam Katti, a celebration of striking contemporary Kathak, will transport you to Uttarayan, the world-famous festival in Gujurat, North India where millions of people from different cities, religions and social classes come together to fly kites in a unique event marking the transition from winter into spring.
The dancers at Pagrav Dance Company will bring forth stories of competition, danger and creativity in a colourful performance filled with lyricism and drama. Founded by acclaimed dancer, choreographer and teacher Urja Desai Thakore, the company creates work rooted in classical Indian Kathak, performed by a new generation of British dancers of Indian heritage.
Combining the modern with the traditional, this is a great family event.
Tickets, priced from £8.00, are available at dancecity.co.uk.
