We mark a major milestone this July with a special all‑day gig at our very own NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton – a fitting celebration of ten years of championing the North East’s music and culture scenes.
Over the past decade, we have evolved from a passion project into a community pillar: a free monthly magazine, a vibrant online hub and, since 2020, we added a live venue to our roster – a venue that kept local music beating even through lockdowns.
This anniversary gig showcases the magazine’s ethos – giving grassroots talent a platform and connecting communities through creativity. It celebrates the relentless, DIY spirit that has seen NE Volume feature 111 issues, 250+ distribution points, and a calendar brimming with gigs, reviews, interviews, features and more.
Our anniversary event takes place on Saturday 19th July from 2pm. Confirmed acts include indie outfits George Bailey and The Callows, alt-rap artist SHDE, quirky, jangly indie rock artist James Leonard Hewitson, pop-punk soloist Aidan Feners, alt-rap artist Sky Parker, indie singer-songwriter Jake Diaz, and atmospheric, folk-tinged electronic soloist Glad Town Ghost – a lineup that highlights both established and rising North East talent.
From early acoustic sets to high-energy electric performances, the day promises variety and emotion. It’s also a testament to our commitment to nurturing homegrown artists and reflecting the region’s musical evolution. Tickets are affordably priced at just £8.00 for the full day, lower than many mainstream gigs – ensuring access for all.
Looking forward, we’re not slowing down. With plans to enhance the venue, expand digital coverage, and deepen community partnerships, the next decade looks brighter than ever. This event isn’t just a celebration – it’s a rallying cry for anyone passionate about regional music and culture to come together, appreciate a decade of work, and help shape the next chapter.
Join us on Saturday 19th July at NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton for a day full of sound, storytelling, and celebration. Let’s mark ten years of grassroots spirit with a gig that embodies everything we stand for.
