February is shaping up nicely at NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton, with a packed programme of live music that reflects our ethos of supporting North East artists right until the end, with the venue currently up for sale.
Across the month, we’ll be hosting a diverse run of gigs showcasing local talent, emerging artists and established names from further afield, spanning indie, post-punk, pop-rap, metal and more. It’s a line-up that really underlines our role as a hub for the North East’s grassroots music scene.
The month gets underway on Thursday 5th February with a triple bill featuring indie band TunnelVision, post-punk outfit Ducter and rock band Artemis. The following night, Friday 6th February, is very much a Teesside-focused affair, with pop-rap artist SHDE joined by indie singer-songwriter Isaac, known for his work with Stockton band The Regency, alongside pop artist AMZ.
One of the standout dates comes on Saturday 7th February, when Kyle Falconer of Scottish indie band The View (known for internationally-renowned tracks such as ‘Same Jeans’ and ‘Superstar Tradesman’) takes to the NE Volume stage. He’ll be supported by Stockton indie acts Jake Diaz and George Bailey, making it a great mix of national and local talent.
On Wednesday 11th February, we’ll be welcoming Scottish singer-songwriter Brooke Combe to the venue. That show is already sold out, which is brilliant to see and a testament to her growing profile.
Live music continues on Friday 13th February with young newcomers The Lovefools, a girl rock band who are really starting to make waves, supported by indie favourites TunnelVision, who’ll be making several appearances at NE Volume this month.
Thursday 19th February brings another mixed-genre night, with indie-pop soloist Max York confirmed so far, and more support acts to be announced. Things turn heavier on Friday 20th February, with alt-rock and metal band Phantom Step joined by rock soloist Freddie Morrison.
On Saturday 21st February, we’ll be hosting a strong North East bill featuring alt-punk band Memoria, TunnelVision (making their third appearance of the month), and Teesside Britpop and indie outfit Potential Difference.
The final run of gigs this month continues with post-punk and industrial band Cherry Knowle on Thursday 26th February, followed by indie soloist Lottie Turner on Friday 27th February. The month is set to close on Saturday 28th February with a possible all-day event, which may act as a leaving party as we explore the sale of the venue.
