Can you believe that this magazine, which goes out across the region each month for free, and supports the region’s diverse cultural and music scene, turns seven this July?
From our humble beginnings, starting with what was just a simple blog, to moving into print and now even owning a live music venue of our own, we’ve come a long way over the last seven or so years.
Our ethos has always been to support local musicians, venues, artists and businesses, and we will continue to stick by that ethos for the foreseeable future.
So, join us as we celebrate such a momentous occasion. We’re bringing some of our favourite North East artists along to NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton on Saturday 2nd July including Twister, White Noise, CLU, Charlotte Grayson (full band) and Ruby Watkins.
Twister are a high-energy rock band of the highest order. Their anthemic songs are bursting at the seams with soaring guitars, gripping and unforgettable melodies, and unbeatable choruses. These four North East lads are absolutely going for it, and you can see just how passionate they are in their live performances. If you haven’t seen them live yet, make it a priority as you will not forget the name Twister. Twister have sold out O2 Academy 2’s and other venues around the country on their last headline tour, ahead of their debut album, ‘Cursed & Corrected’. Well gigged and ready to go at the drop of a hat, Twister have played alongside huge names such as Status Quo, Papa Roach, Bumblefoot (Guns ‘n’ Roses), Jools Holland, Texas, Scouting For Girls, Electric Six, Simple Minds and many, many more.
White Noise are the winners of our venue’s first-ever Battle of the Bands competition. This Teesside psychedelic indie-pop outfit are ones to look out for.
CLU are a young, up-and-coming indie-pop outfit from Teesside making huge strides at the moment.
Hartlepool singer-songwriter Charlotte Grayson (this time joined by her full band) plays self-penned songs about love, loss, teenage angst and social commentary that are hard-hitting, direct, and life-affirming.
And finally, Ruby Watkins is a relatively new indie singer-songwriter from Teesside with beautiful, powerful vocals and touching, sentimental lyrics.
Our anniversary event takes place at NE Volume Music Bar in Stockton on Saturday 2nd July.
